We will have bus transportation available and we’ll even buy you lunch! This is a GREAT opportunity to meet with our Duval delegation face to face [...] [ January 7, 2012; 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. ] The next Advocacy Training session will be held Saturday, January 7 from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm DCCPTA is able to offer this training through the grant received from National PTA. Register NOW Second part of this training (Meeting with Decision Makers & Working with the Media) will [...] iAdvocate For Kids makes it easy for you to mobilize your community to use their voices to tell our State Legislators that Public Education is important. It is our State Legislators who dictate how much the DCPS School Board and district office has to spend on our schools and teachers. This year Duval County Public Schools and Save Duval Schools created a coalition of agencies around town to discuss the state of public education in the District. DCC PTA was asked to participate with this coalition. Through the work of the coalition, it was decided to come up with a legislative agenda to present to [...] The Nov 5th Superintendent’s Leadership Academy and iAdvocate Grassroots Advocacy Workshop has been moved from Forrest High School to The Shultz Center. [ October 13, 2011; 9:30 am to 2:00 pm. ] National PTA training will be offered to Northeast Florida citizens to help them become better advocates. We will also be sharing information about the Common Core State Standards Initative that will soon be impacting our Florida students.
