ALEXANDRIA, VA. (March 6, 2012) – National PTA® this week is recognizing the Duval County Council of PTAs in Florida for receiving the National PTA Outstanding Advocacy Award. Recognizing that the education advocates of tomorrow are in our schools today, the Council of PTAs worked to increase advocacy efforts among high school students. FLORIDA PTA OPPOSES “PARENT EMPOWERMENT ACT” The Duval County Council of PTAs will be honored in Washington DC during the National PTA Legislative Conference March 8, 2012. The Duval County Council will be receiving an Outstanding Advocacy Award for their work with the Superintendent’s Leadership Academy (SLA). This award is presented to a local, district, council, or regional PTA [...] The iAdvocate for Kids Committee is sponsoring a special advocacy program this month to mobilize parents and education advocates on behalf of Public Pre-K to12 Education. [ January 25, 2012; 6:00 am to 4:30 pm. ] Our annual trip to Tallahassee to meet with our legislators will take place Wednesday, January 25, 2012. We will have bus transportation available and we’ll even buy you lunch!
