I can’t believe fall is here!

We are changing gears from hot summer days to cool crisp mornings and evenings.  

It has been so exciting to have a lot of our PTA/PTSAs reinstated, some haven’t had a PTA in 5 to 10 years!  We want to welcome all those new Local Units and I as well as the other board members are here to help make your school year a success.

Our DCCPTA’s first collection of donations to the Giving Closet Project was a success and we will continue to collect those items that are on the list at our October 25th and November 29th General Meetings.  If you need a list of items we are collecting, please email me and I will get that information to you.

Florida PTA has started the Road to Success Wednesdays!  Each Wednesday topics related to PTA will be discussed.  These informative and engaging discussions will help you become a better leader as well as give you an opportunity to network with other PTA leaders across our state.  I will be posting the different topics each week on our Duval County Council PTA Facebook page where there will be a link for you to register for these great topics.  Florida PTA also offers a wide range of “Leadership Learning Moments” showing the how-to’s and how-not-to’s for several PTA situations.  You can find these on the Florida PTA website under Training Center.

Please remember that your PTA Membership Dues are due at the end of each month and can be paid either on MemberHub or by mailing in a check to Florida PTA.  Our membership numbers are incredible already this year and I hope you are one of the schools that is recognized at our November General Meeting for the highest percentage increase for either elementary, middle or high school!
