DCCPTA President’s Newsletter April 2023

Well, Spring is finally here, and we are just a few weeks away from our President’s and Principals Luncheon.  If you have not purchased your tickets for this exciting event, you can bring a check to our Emergency General Meeting for the purpose of electing our new DCCPTA Officers on Wednesday, April 12th, or to our General Meeting on Tuesday, April 25th.  You can also go on to our MemberHub and purchase tickets.  We have some great vendors participating in our Vendor Fair this year.  We are so happy to be able to have this event back in person!

Nominating Committees should be announcing the slate of officers for your PTA/PTSA for the 2023-2024 School Year and you should have your elections scheduled to take place at your May General Meeting.  Remember to have those binders or flash drives ready to hand over to the person that will be taking your position next school year.

Registration is now open for Florida PTA Leadership Convention and there are some great speakers scheduled this year as well as there will be workshops for everyone.  Florida PTA’s Got Talent theme is “Kentucky Derby” so get those fancy hats and outfits ready for a fun-filled evening.  All money raised from this event goes to sponsor the Florida PTA Scholarship Program.

Florida PTA Award Applications are now being accepted.  You can scan the QR Code provided in this newsletter which will take you directly to the award applications.  Remember that one event your PTA does can possibly qualify for more than one award so get those applications in by May 1st.  The Awards Luncheon will be held on Friday, July 14th and I would love to see our Duval Local Units present some awards for all of your hard work this year.  If you have questions about the awards, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

National PTA’s 2023 Convention is Virtual this year.  It will be held June 15th – 24th.  Registration is $75 and you can go to the National PTA’s website to register.  If you have never attended a National PTA Convention, what better way to experience it than being able to attend online?
