DCCPTA President’s Newsletter January 2026

Dear PTA Leaders and Members,

As we return from winter break and begin the second half of our term, I want to sincerely thank each of you for your continued support of the PTA mission. Every volunteer hour, every meeting, and every act of service helps strengthen our schools and support the success of all students.

As this newsletter goes to print, PTA leaders from across our state are gathering in Tallahassee for the Florida PTA Legislative Conference, advocating for policies that support children and families. Their work reflects the power of our collective voice and the importance of staying engaged at every level of PTA.

January is also a time to refocus and plan ahead. Units may wish to conduct a midyear audit to review budgets for possible amendments and begin forming nominating committees as we prepare for the next school year.

Looking ahead, I encourage everyone to begin planning how your school community will celebrate PTA Founder’s Day in February, a meaningful opportunity to honor the legacy of advocacy and community that continues to guide our work. I also encourage every local unit to send a delegate to our upcoming General Meetings on February 24 and April 28, where your voice and participation truly matter. And please save the date for our Presidents and Principals Luncheon on May 15, where we will recognize the incredible work happening across our local units. Tickets will be available soon in our online store.

We are also hard at work supporting several exciting programs, including the Reflections Art Competition, which is currently in the final selection process with winner announcements coming soon; our Student Leadership Academy, with classes scheduled in the next few weeks.

Thank you for all you do to keep us United for Students. I look forward to all we will accomplish together in the months ahead.

With gratitude,
Jennifer GubatPresident
