At the invitation of Florida PTA President, Carolyn Nelson-Goedert, DCCPTA is serving on the planning committee for Florida PTA’s upcoming Educational Town Hall to be held in Jacksonville. The goal of the event is to gather stakeholders to participate in a conversation on how best to ensure student achievement as we prepare our District’s students for success in a global economy. Given your leadership role and deep concern for our youth and communities, we would be honored if you would consider attending.
Additionally, on Friday night, September 6, 2023, we will be hosting a mental health workshop facilitated by Active Minds.

More About The Event
There are staggering disparities in educational outcomes in the US, driven largely by varying levels of resources at the state and local levels. This problem has become exponentially worse during the pandemic. In response, The Florida Parent Teachers’ Association is committed to promoting educational equity and adequacy in resources and opportunities for students, especially those from underserved communities. We invite your community to participate in a conversation about how best to ensure student success in your school district and prepare our students to compete in a global economy.
